Tiger Crew: Learning to Lead Through Service
At Cleveland Intermediate School, leadership is about much more than holding a title. Our 5th Grade Tiger Crew continues to demonstrate what it means to lead by serving others, making a positive impact both in our school and throughout the community.
This fall has been a busy season for Tiger Crew. Students have volunteered their time at the local food bank and Baptist Village, attended city council meetings to learn more about local government, and have taken an active role in projects that connect classroom learning to real-world citizenship. Through these experiences, students are discovering that leadership isn't about being in charge. It's about being willing to help, serve, and make your community better.
Tiger Crew is also preparing two special projects that reflect those values. The first is the Field of Heroes, a Veterans Day tradition that honors the men and women who have served our country. Veteran names will be displayed on the field in front of the Intermediate School throughout Veterans Day week, creating a powerful visual reminder of the sacrifices made by our nation's heroes.
The second is Tiger Crew's holiday food drive. Students are collecting boxed stuffing mix and gravy packets to help support local families during the Thanksgiving season. While these may seem like simple items, they help make holiday meals possible for families in need and remind us that even small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact.
We are proud of the example these students are setting. Through community service, civic engagement, honoring veterans, and caring for others, Tiger Crew is showing that leadership starts with service. They aren't waiting until they're older to make a difference. They're making one right now. 🐯💙
