Back to School 2027 Parent Email

Dear CPS Families,
Well, we tried.
We made it all the way to mid-July before unleashing the annual wave of back-to-school information. Starting next week you’ll see your Facebook flooded with the information below. School supplies, enrollment surveys, open houses, transportation, calendars, and several other reminders that serve as a yearly reminder that summer doesn't last nearly as long as we'd like.
To help keep everything in one place, we've gathered the most important back-to-school information below for easy access. Before you delve deep into links and planning for the school year. We wanted to acknowledge the difficult time for many families this summer in the face of unexpected tragedy in your home life and even the loss of a dearly loved friend or classmate. Sometimes we need help processing difficult levels of loss. We wanted to remind parents that we can help connect you with off campus resources, and offer support on campus as school gets back into swing. If this is something that interests your family please simply reply to this email and we would be more than happy to help.
School Supplies
Find grade-level supply lists and make sure your student is ready for the first day of school! Traditionally, most elementary students bring their supplies at the ‘meet the teacher’ open house evenings. Middle School and High School Students bring a notebook and a writing utensil to school those first 2 days to get their supply list from their teachers.
Open House Information
Open House is a great opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and get ready for a successful school year. 6th Grade orientation and Freshman orientation are also important events those kiddos won’t want to miss.
- Monday August 3rd will host the Primary School Come and Go open house from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. Also on Monday will be the middle school 6th grade orientation at 5pm with come and go schedule pickup for 7th and 8th graders from 630pm to 730pm.
- Tuesday August 4th will have the Intermediate School Open House with a come and go set up from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. The high school will set their schedule pick up times starting with seniors at 2pm that day followed by Jrs at 3pm, Sophs at 4pm, and Freshman orientation at 5:00pm.
See you guys there!

Important Family Surveys
We need every family to complete three important surveys. Completing them now helps you save time and stress on open house nights! They are integral in creating funding for our school, organizing our bus routes EARLY, AND sustaining our free breakfasts and free lunches programs!
These surveys help us secure important funding, organize transportation routes, and identify ways we can support students and families throughout the year.
Surveys are all in 1 place here -

Have You Seen Our New Website?
As you click the links above, you may have noticed that Cleveland Public Schools has launched a new website. While we're excited about the improvements, we're still actively working on content, navigation, and updates throughout the site.
We appreciate your patience as we continue refining the experience and making information easier for families to find.
Coming Soon: ParentSquare
This school year, Cleveland Public Schools will begin utilizing ParentSquare as a new communication platform for families.
More information, setup instructions, and details about ParentSquare will be shared separately in the coming weeks. We are excited about the opportunities it will provide for stronger communication between our schools and families.
Until then, please continue staying connected through:
- Remind
- District Website
- CPS Social Media Channels
These will remain our primary communication methods as we prepare for the new school year and roll out ParentSquare.
As always, thank you for your partnership and support of Cleveland Public Schools. We are looking forward to welcoming students back soon and are excited for another outstanding year of learning, growth, and success.
Go Tigers!
