Student Attendance vs Student Achievement

Cleveland School’s believes that the vast majority of our students learn best physically on campus. The goal for every student should be to be absent 2 or fewer times a month. Cleveland is not immune to the statistics of attendance vs student achievement. Simply put, our kids on campus make a difference. 

  • The national graduation rate for students who average 2 or fewer absences per month is 92%, whereas, the same rate for students who are absent more than 2 times per month is 75
  • Cleveland Elementary Students who missed less than 10% of school scored on average 9 points higher on state assessments than those who missed more than 10% of school.
  • Cleveland Secondary Students who missed less than 10% of school scored on average 18 points higher on state assessments than those who missed more than 10% of school.
