Request for Bid – Natural Grass Playing Field

The Cleveland Tigers School District invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the remediation and upgrade of the football and soccer stadium playing surface. The project includes grading, leveling, drainage installation, irrigation setup, and new grass installation to ensure a safe, durable, and high-quality playing surface.
Scope of Work
Site Preparation
- Field Removal (if applicable):
- Excavate and remove existing surface materials as needed.
- Grading and Leveling:
- Perform precise grading to ensure a uniform, level playing surface suitable for football and soccer.
- Drainage System Installation:
- Design and install subsurface drainage systems for efficient water management.
- Implement surface grading to prevent pooling.
- Soil Analysis and Amendments (preferred service, but not required. Include availability and pricing if applicable):
- Conduct soil testing to determine nutrient and structural needs.
- Apply soil amendments for optimal growing conditions.
Grass Installation
- Grass Selection:
- Recommend and source a high-quality natural grass variety (e.g., Bermuda or Kentucky Bluegrass) suitable for the local climate and field usage.
- Sod Installation:
- Install sod using proper rolling, leveling, and adherence techniques for seamless integration.
Field Finishing
- Initial Setup:
- Calibrate irrigation system for optimal coverage.
- Apply initial fertilization and soil treatments to support grass establishment.
Bidder Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated Experience:
- Provide evidence of successful natural grass field construction or remediation projects of similar scope.
- Certifications:
- Proof of licensing and insurance to operate within the project jurisdiction.
- Relevant certifications for turf management practices.
References
- Include a list of at least three recent projects with client contact details for reference checks.

- Project schedule, including key milestones and guaranteed completion date by July 1, 2024.
