Cleveland Public Schools knows there are many circumstances, such as, snowstorms, water line breaks, and viral spread, that will occur throughout the course of the year. Being able to transition to a Distance Learning model for these types of circumstances will allow us greater flexibility in being able to keep on pace with academic goals. We strive to get better whenever possible and we want to be more effective for students than we were last April. In order to do that, we believe our students and teachers need practice.
To prepare for these types of events, on July 6th our school board voted to approve the following OFF CAMPUS Distance Learning Days.
- September 18th
- October 2nd
- October 12th and 13th
- October 30th
- November 13th
- February 5th
- February 26th.
On these days, STUDENTS ARE OFF CAMPUS and learning at home. This Friday, September 18th, will be the first of these scheduled days. Depending on your child’s grade level, this will look and feel a bit different. Below you can find important information on where and how to get started on this day.
Grades Pre-Kindergarten to 4th:
Homeroom teachers will be communicating with parents on individual expectations via the classroom Remind messaging app before these scheduled distance learning days. Lessons, practice, and any material will be made available and sent home with the student on the days prior.
Grades 5th – 12th:
On the days before off-campus distance learning teachers will be reminding students where to access assignments on Google Classroom. All assignments the day of will be on each child’s personal Google Classroom Page. These students will be bringing Chromebooks home on Thursday if they do not already have one checked out.
Grades 5th – 12th HOTSPOT Pickup at The Administration Office (600 N. Gilbert)
For any families in grades 5th-12th who have not been scheduled or able to pick up a hotspot yet, and, have not already picked up a hotspot during previous events, the following days and times are available:
