Facing funding challenges from various sources, our school district is discussing the possibility of a bond issue to upgrade our educational facilities. As we look with a vision toward the future, and an immediacy in the present, the need for improvements in specific areas have become clear. In the past, bond issues in our community have been vital in investing in our students’ future and ensuring access to good educational environments. From the Event Center, to school busses, to the walking trail, and much more the Tiger Family has stepped up for our students and campus.

For the past several months we have worked in collaboration with various organizations and security experts, and have undertaken a comprehensive needs assessment to discover the critical gaps in our facilities. Our path forward involves taking every opportunity to report to you, the community, the findings and progress of these needs. In an effort to keep the public informed, you can view detailed reports, our tentative prioritized needs, district boundary information, and budgetary gaps on the new website–TIGER VISION for 2025 & BEYOND.

Community involvement is crucial in this effort. Residents are encouraged to review this website, and provide input and ask questions. Your input will help guide future improvements and funding decisions. Applicable questions will be publicly answered via our website and future articles in The American. Input from all of our stakeholders will help determine which needs can be met with local funds and which might require a bond issue in 2025.

Transparency and community involvement are key as we move forward. Open discussion and careful planning will guide us as we finalize priorities and seek support for the proposed bond issue. As the district seeks partners for construction, a comprehensive plan will be developed, with a bond issue tentatively planned January 2025.
