TIGER VISION BOND ISSUE RECAP AND FUTURE

Many comments have surfaced regarding Tiger Vision 2025 and it’s updates. A central theme of these comments lead us to see a common misconception. The current project pricing updates are being assumed as the official Tiger Vision 2025 Bond issue. Due to this, we’d like to remind the community of a brief recap of our process and where we are going in the future.

Phase One – July to January 2024 – Needs Assessment of Our Current Facilities.

During this phase we spent time collecting an assessment of our campus from our own maintenance staff, outside school facility specialists, and different school security experts. Many of these reports can be found on our Tiger Vision linked here. This provided us a long list of needs that we could see the need of a rising in the next 10 years.

Phase Two February to April 2024 – Prioritizing our Needs

At phase two we needed to ask our staff and listen to you our community as to what parts of these needs were a priority. The result of this prioritization process resulted in a category of High Priority Needs, Medium Priority Needs, and Low Priority Needs. Linked on each of the High and Medium are survey results and a prediction of what revenue fund we might use, when the time arises to do those projects.

Phase Three – April to July 2024 – Developing and Pricing Solutions to our Needs

Phase three allows us to work with our Architect and Construction Partners to put cost estimates to these projects. Without knowing the costs of projects it is difficult to further prioritize our needs for a community voted bond issue. It was at this point once we released the information it was not communicated well from us, that this is what not the official bond issue, but potentials.

Phase Four – August 2024 to CurrentDetermining the Parameters of the Bond Issue

It is this part that the ‘rubber meets the road’ so to speak. We must listen to staff, stakeholders, and community members to know what pieces of these potential areas are important. Determining a cost effective solution for our community. Are whole projects needed? Or are parts of each project needed? What size of bond issue, and what tax rate are we willing to ask our community to take on? All of these and more are the questions we are actively answering and wanting you to help with. Again the phase is WHEN the bond issue gets finalized. Tiger Vision 2025 and it’s projects are not set in stone. It hasn’t even begun to be etched. How can you provide your input? Fill out our survey!

Phase Five – To Be Determined – School Board Vote and Community Election

Before a school district and vote for any bond issue it must be school board approved 60 days prior to the public vote. Below are the options being considered.

Board Meeting November 11, 2024 — Vote on January 14, 2025.

Board Meeting December 12, 2024 — Vote on February 11, 2025

Board Meeting January 2, 2025 — Vote on March 4, 2025

Board Meeting January 30, 2025 — Vote on April 1, 2025

Thank you for being a part of our Tiger Community, and being interested in what is happening on campus! Reminder: Our Tiger Vision 2025 is still in the works! A bond issue is not final. Please help us know what our community believes by filling out our survey. Don’t forget our FAQs are trying to be updated as our survey gets filled out.
