Return to Learn

Cleveland Public Schools is set to begin on August 13th and we are excited to welcome all students back to their campus!  The information presented in this public summary is shared so our community can begin school with a shared understanding of our responsibility in keeping students, staff and families safe as possible.

We know we cannot eliminate the Covid virus; but with wise choices, we can mitigate its impact. The 3 most important choices are briefly mentioned below, but can be read in detail in the “Return to Learn” document at the bottom of this post

  1. Masks/Face Coverings: We are providing every student and staff member with Cleveland Tiger masks and/or gaiters. We believe the more people wearing masks the better. At this time, wearing masks is a strong recommendation but not a requirement.
  2. Social Distancing: The other area we can help mitigate the virus is through social distancing.  We know in the school day staying 6ft a part at all times is impossible. However, procedures are being set up in hallways, cafeterias, and classrooms to maintain as much social distancing as possible.
  3. Cleaning/Sanitizing: Cleveland Schools has purchased disinfectant spray and hand sanitizer for every room and office, with an almost endless supply to replenish.  We have also purchased several disinfectant foggers to utilize in classrooms, offices, hallways, and busses on a daily basis.

Having a successful school year will not be possible without the support and collaboration of our students, staff, families, and community as a whole. We are aware this isn’t “normal” but as we have said in the past, our goal was to start school as normal as possible. We believe, using the information we have right now, the following document achieves that goal. We are excited to serve students and get started on August 13th!
