Dear Tiger Parents:
With the amount of snow days we had this year and adding days to the end of the year we were left with a decision to make. What to do about May 12th? We needed to have school on May 12th to make sure we had the adequate number of days on our school calendar. The issue was May 12th is a Monday, state testing would be finished, finals for secondary students were scheduled to have occurred already, and end of year field trips were scheduled to have been completed. Should we bring our students back to campus for that last day? We decided it would be best to utilize a distance learning day, our only one for the last 2 school years.
This way we still have the required number of days, and families aren’t trying to get to school on a Monday for their last day.
The details of the assignment you can see below. Primary and Intermediate students will have one assignment they can complete at home anytime between now and May 12th and turn evidence of completion into their homeroom teacher. Middle School and High School students can also complete their assignments anytime between now and May 12th and turn into their ELA (english) teachers.
As we mentioned, finals exams and projects and state testing have already been completed. This assignment is designed to be a simple end to the school year. Minimal impact to student grading or final scores, efficient to complete, with ample time to get it done.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s school!
It has been a great year and we are thankful to have you a part of the Tiger Family!
