The Cleveland Tigers band program is hitting all the right notes this year, combining hard work, dedication, and a lot of fun. From electrifying performances to heartwarming traditions, our band students shine bright, proving that music truly brings people together.
This year’s highlights have included the energetic marching season, complete with a glow show that wowed the crowd, a moving Christmas concert, and meaningful performances for our Veterans Day celebrations. Whether lighting up the field or honoring our nation’s heroes, our band has poured heart and soul into every note.
The Cleveland band program is home to a growing number of talented students: with 74 middle school and 45 high school members.
Band Director Nicole Allen pointed out that “It’s inspiring to see how our high school students have come together to create a supportive community. Leadership within the band is thriving, with upperclassmen mentoring their peers and helping everyone reach new heights. Middle school students are also stepping up, frequently staying after school to practice and auditioning for honor bands to push their skills even further.”
The spring semester promises even more incredible opportunities for our band program. High school students will travel to St. Louis for a festival performance, showcasing their talent on a big stage. The entire program will come together for a full Spring Concert (date to be announced), celebrating a year of hard work and music.
We also hope to see Tri-M, our music honor society, organize a dinner and variety show to add some extra fun to the season. High school students are preparing for Solo and Ensemble performances, while younger students and first- and second-year players will have the chance to participate in a director-chosen honor band in April. Additionally, many of our students are busy auditioning for honor bands that perform in January and February—a testament to their ambition and drive.
“There is always room for improvement, and this program is really starting to show their drive to get better,” says Mrs. Allen. It’s clear that this group isn’t just about making music—it’s about building character, fostering leadership, and creating a community of support and growth.
We couldn’t be prouder of the Cleveland Tigers band program. Whether it’s a new student picking up an instrument for the first time or a seasoned performer leading the way, every member contributes to the harmonious and hardworking spirit of our band. Here’s to a fantastic rest of the year filled with music, memories, and momentum!
