There’s something powerful about learning together—face to face—where relationships, collaboration, and shared experiences help students grow both academically and personally. For most students, that daily connection on campus is where they truly thrive.
At the same time, we understand that some families need flexibility. For those situations, Cleveland Public Schools proudly offers the Cleveland Virtual Academy (CVA)—a high-quality, fully accredited online program for middle school and high school students in grades 6–12.
CVA combines the flexibility of online learning with the support and community of in-person education. Students complete coursework at their own pace under the guidance of certified Cleveland teachers, who provide instruction, feedback, and personalized support to help every student stay on track.
One of the most unique features of CVA is our on-campus learning space, open during school hours for virtual students. It functions much like a student union, where learners can drop in for academic help, meet with teachers, collaborate with peers, or simply connect with the Cleveland school community.
CVA students remain active members of our district—eligible to participate in athletics, fine arts, and agricultural education programs, and to take part in on-campus events and activities.
While we believe the best learning happens in person, we’re proud to offer a virtual pathway that keeps students connected to the Cleveland experience, ensuring every Tiger has a place to learn, grow, and belong.
If you would like more information or are new to the district and interested in the Virtual Academy, please contact the middle school or high school offices to speak to a counselor or administrator.
