Cleveland Personalized Academic Center: A Fresh Vision for Student Success

The Cleveland Personalized Academic Center (CPAC) has undergone some exciting changes this year, redefining what it means to support students through individualized learning and flexibility. What once served as a blended learning program for 40–50 students has now shifted into a thriving hub of opportunity, tailored support, and real-world growth.

Mrs. Smith, CPAC Director, shared some insight into the transformation:

A Program Redefined

This year, CPAC has grown in both size and capacity. With the addition of another teacher, we’ve been able to expand the number of student spots available and increase one-on-one support. Students now engage in a hybrid model—completing their core credits online while earning elective credits through in-person lessons.

One of the most exciting updates is the expansion of our life skills curriculum, supported by additional funding. Students now have hands-on opportunities to learn essential skills for independent living, from cooking with kitchen appliances to managing other day-to-day responsibilities.

Purpose-Driven Support

The mission of CPAC remains clear: to provide an alternative pathway for students who face barriers that make traditional learning challenging. These are students who may not otherwise graduate without the unique interventions CPAC offers. By meeting students where they are, CPAC gives them the tools and confidence to reach the finish line and beyond.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

CPAC students don’t just study inside four walls—they’re given opportunities to explore their community and future careers. Monthly volunteer work at the Cleveland food pantry and the school’s thrift shop help students give back and build responsibility.

Students have already toured Wild Country Meats and will soon visit Indian Electric Cooperative and OSU IT in Okmulgee. And of course, the team knows how to balance learning with fun—like making memories at a local pumpkin patch or celebrating birthdays and holidays together.

Services That Truly Serve Students

What makes CPAC so impactful is the level of advocacy and care offered by its staff. Teachers don’t just provide instruction; they walk alongside students to ensure they receive the support and resources they need. This often includes collaboration with other staff members, health providers, and even state agencies to address academic, social, and personal needs.

A Place to Belong and Succeed

At its heart, CPAC is more than a program—it’s a family. By combining personalized academics, life skills development, real-world exposure, and community connections, CPAC is equipping students with the tools they need for both high school success and lifelong independence.

The changes this year are only the beginning. With a renewed vision and expanded opportunities, the Cleveland Personalized Academic Center is proving that when students are supported with care, flexibility, and purpose, they can achieve more than they ever imagined.
