Return to Athletic Activities Guidelines

Phase 1: 6/08/20 through 6/26/2020

On June 8, 2020 coaches may have face-to-face contact with secondary level students using the provisions provided below. Before any athlete can participate in any activity they must have a COVID Release form on file with the Athletic Department. All participation is voluntary, athletes will not be penalized for non participation.  We will analyze the success and safety of our plan each week, and make adjustments accordingly.  Our first priority is the health and safety of our athletes and staff.  

Weight Room

6/08/20 through 6/26/20     Open— Monday-Wednesday-Friday     Closed—Tuesday-Thursday

– Each person entering the facility must have their temperature checked upon arrival. Any individual with a temperature registering 100.4 degrees or above will not be permitted to stay

 – Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to entering the facility and touching any equipment 

– Locker rooms will not be available. 

– 2 people maximum on any one piece of equipment, No more than 24 athletes total will be allowed in the weight room at any time. 

– Spotters must wear a mask or cloth face covering 

– Social distancing requirements must be followed; the total number allowed in a weight room must comply with social distancing requirements (exception: a spotter should be permitted to safely spot) 

– Any equipment used including weights, balls, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use 

– No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted.

– Athletes will be required to provide their own face mask or face covering.

Gym/Indoor Facility                                                                                                     – Each person entering the facility must have their temperature checked upon arrival. Any individual with a temperature registering 100.4 degrees or above will not be permitted to stay.                                          

– Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to entering the facility and before beginning any drills or handling of equipment

-Locker rooms will not be available. 

– Social distancing guidelines must be followed                                                   

– No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted 

– Any equipment used to include weights, balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use

– Athletes can shoot under coaches supervision, no more than two Athletes per basket, No more than 12 athletes total

– Athletes can use the indoor under coaches supervision no more than 2 athletes per station, no more than 10 athletes total

– Wrestling room will be closed 

– Wrestling room could possibly open for individual use 6/22/20

OUTDOORS: 

– Each person entering the facility must have their temperature checked upon arrival. Any individual with a temperature registering 100.4 degrees or above will not be permitted to stay   

– Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to handling of equipment 

– Locker rooms will not be available  

– Social distancing guidelines must be followed 

– No shared helmets or equipment worn on the head including facemasks 

– No shared hydrating bottles, towels, gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted 

– Any equipment used including balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use 

– No more than 24 athletes are allowed in one location at a time. 

6/08/20 through 6/21/2

– Softball will be allowed to attend Perry Summer League, due to it being an outdoor, open air activity.

– All outside activities and sports will be allowed using social distancing guideline, no more than 24 athletes in one location at a time. 

6/22/20 through 6/26/20

– Softball will be allowed to attend Perry Summer League, due to it being an outdoor, open air activity 

– Football will be allowed to attend passing league, due to it being an outdoor, open air activity

– All activities and sports will be allowed using social distancing guidelines 

6/27/20 through 7/05/20 – Dead Week – All Activities and Use of facilities are prohibited. 

Phase 2: 7/06/20 through 7/15/20 

– All activities will proceed as normal with social distancing guidelines only 

– Strength and conditioning is permitted, Monday through Friday

– Social distancing guidelines must be followed                                                     

– Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used prior to the use of any equipment                                        

– Any equipment used including weights, balls, bats, helmets, etc. must be disinfected appropriately with use                                                                           

– Tryouts are permitted (must follow OSSAA Policy for tryouts)                                                                   

– No shared hydrating bottles, towels,,gloves, or any other personal equipment is permitted 

Participation will not require a new physical until 7/15/20

July 6th, 2020

– Junior High (6th-8th) weight lifting can begin                                                                               

July 15th, 2020

– All Junior High (6th-8th) activities may begin 

July 15, 2020

– Practice may begin for fast-pitch softball and cross country according to OSSAA rules and regulations           

August 10, 2020

– Practice may begin for football according to OSSAA rules and regulations.
