District Transportation Director

Specific Duties as The Transportation Director Are:

  • Manages and oversees the daily operations of the Transportation Department
    • Daily fleet maintenance and inspection to prepare for routes and general purpose, vehicle logs, purchase orders, grounds upkeep, and materials inventory.
    • Directly responsible for the hiring, training, and managing of eligible employees to drive school buses in the district and support staff in the transportation department.
    • Plan, host, and facilitate meetings, trainings, and professional development.
    • Ensure that all CDL employees credentials are valid and up to date.
    • Arrange annual CDL physicals for all CDL employees including coaches
    • Help with assisting new hire employees with obtaining their permits/cdl
  • Oversees maintenance of all of the district’s equipment  and performs any needed repairs. 
  • Keeps detailed records of all repairs and routine maintenance of the District’s equipment.
  • Ensures district school buses have been annually inspected 
  • Directly responsible for the scheduling of drivers  and equipment to fulfill morning and afternoon routes.
  • Responsible for monitoring the fuel tanks and performing monthly inspections. Also responsible for measuring the tanks and placing fuel orders.
  • Responsible for the evaluation and planning of  bus routes and extracurricular requests to properly cover the district.
    • Communicate with city and county officials to ensure safe passage of all bus routes.
  • Assist Parents/ Guardians, and District personnel in locating student stop locations and times.
  • Assist district administration and drivers in student and/or parent conflict.
    • Able to interact appropriately, respectfully, and grace to students, parents, and school personnel as the district director of transportation.
  • Able to navigate Google Suite Applications, 2 way radio technology, and GPS devices and software
  • As needed: substitute driving,

Description:

  • Assumes the responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent
  • Prepares lesson plans with assistance when lesson plans are not available in the classroom
  • Maintains appropriate records including checking teacher papers, recording grades, student assignments, etc.
  • Provides assistance to students as needed

More Information:

  • Pay is $8.00 per hour, $10 per hour if holding Oklahoma teaching certification
  • Must complete initial application and screening before the completion of the background check
  • Must complete (fees associated) or provide documentation of a recent background check (within 1 year)

Bus Driver

Requirements 

  • Minimum Class B with P (passenger) & S (school bus) endorsements 
    • School will pay for training and license if needed
  • Must pass a physical (school will pay if needed)
  • Must pass background test
  • Must obtain State Department of Education (SDE) Certification (school will provide access)
  • Must submit to pre employment and random drug testing
  • Must be able to safely transport students to and from school and activities

Pay: Starting pay $13.50 an hour for routes (1.75 hours AM and PM or 3.5 per Day)

Activity trips available throughout the year at $8 an hour.
