Welcome! We have made it to December! Time is flying by. Below is an overview of each class I am teaching. December 6th Grade English: We will finish Chapter 17: Prepositions in our grammar books the first week in December. Before Christmas break, we will complete Chapter 18: Conjunctions and Interjections. In spelling, we are covering lessons fourteen and fifteen this month. The sixth grade takes a spelling test every Friday. Please ask your student to bring home their spelling book to review. 7th Grade Reading: The seventh graders are reading our first class novel, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. It is a great adventure novel about a thirteen-year-old girl who travels on a merchant ship from England to America. We are discussing conflicts with authority, different types of sailing ships and learning the vocabulary of a seaman. We will be taking a vocabulary test over Chapters 1-12 on December 10th and continue reading until Christmas break. Updated 12/5/08 |
