Rise and Shine is at 8:15 a. m. in the gym.  All Students report to the gym each morning.

For each child who reads 100 books and turns in the book list to me

with their parent’s signature, I will buy a Sonic Meal for his/her

lunch.   So far I have 4 students on their way to 100 books.

 

Spelling Words for the week of January 3, 2012 are:  read, feel, easy,

The rule for this week:  Long e can be spelled ee, ea, and y.

Spelling Words for the week of January 9th are: soon, sooner, soonest, hot, hotter, hottest, busy, busier, busiest, happy, happier,

happiest, small, smaller, smallest, fat, fatter, fattest, angry, angrier.

No review words for this week.

The rule for this week:  When adding –er and –est, some base words do not change: sooner, soonest. Others do change: busier, busiest,

fatter, fattest.

Spelling List for January 17th is: joy, noise, royal, moist, broil, cowboy, spoil, joint, foil, enjoy, destroy, loyal, employee, corduroy, turquoise, happier, happiest, hotter, hottest, smaller.

 

Spelling words for January 23, 2012 are: blue, cowboy, cool, clue, cruise, drew, enjoy, flew, fruit, joy, nephew, shampoo, too, juice,

The rule for this week is: The vowel sound in moon can be spelled

oo, ue, ew, and ui:  too, blue, new, fruit.
