CHS Semester Test Exemption Details

Dear Family,

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education at Cleveland High School. We want to share important information regarding exemptions for semester tests for students in grades 9 through 12. We implemented this reward system to motivate students in areas that are important to their academic success.

9th – 11th Grade Exemptions: Students may earn exemptions from the 1st and 2nd semester finals based on the following criteria:

Attendance: No more than 5 unexcused absences.

Grades: A minimum of 70 or better in all classes.

NWEA Test Scores:

1 test passed = 1 day of testing 12/19

2 tests passed = 2 days of testing 12/18-12/19

3 tests passed = Last week of the semester and finals 12/16-12/19

Discipline: No more than 3 days of In-School Placement or more than 1 day of Out of School Suspension.

Tardies: No more than 6 tardies.

12th Grade Exemptions: Seniors may earn exemptions from the final week of the semester based on:

Attendance: No more than 5 unexcused absences.

Grades: A minimum of 70 or better in all classes.

Completed requirements:

1st semester: Enrolled, Enlist, Employed Google form, Citizenship test, online CPR portion, and winter ICAP checkpoint.

2nd semester: Completed ICAP, FASFA, CPR, and Citizenship test.

Discipline: No more than 3 days of In-School Placement or more than 1 day of Out of School Suspension.

Tardies: No more than 6 tardies.

Students will be notified of their exemptions by the principal or assistant principal by Wednesday December 11th.
