And We’re Back!

Cleveland High and Middle School have been on an A/B Schedule for several weeks.  Due to campus and community levels of COVID-19 it was a difficult but necessary transition.  In the past 12 days COVID-19 has been on the decline in the district.  We are grateful to see this improvement and as of today, there are 11 active cases in Cleveland and 48 active cases in Pawnee County.  Both of those numbers have decreased by approximately 66% in the past 30 days. These are exciting trends!

So with this information, we believe it is time to bring ALL our students back on campus 5 days a week.  Beginning Monday, March 1st, A/B schedule will cease at the High school and Middle school and we will resume our regular Monday thru Friday schedule of learning! As all four buildings will welcome all of our students to school this Monday; we are hopeful we will be able to set the A/B schedule aside forever.

We also want to thank you, our families and students, for being flexible and understanding during this time.  We can’t begin to understand all the unique hardships these times have put on your families.  As we have made difficult decisions in difficult times over the past 12 months, you have been supportive and caring and we are incredibly grateful for our Tiger Family!

We also must acknowledge however, even though things are certainly improving, it is not the time to let our guard down. Please remember 4 key action items for all families in order to help the school in our efforts to keep COVID-19 away from our campus.

  1. If you have any symptoms please stay home and communicate with your school.
  2. We strongly encourage all people on campus to wear a face covering.
  3. Practice Social Distancing when and wherever possible.
  4. Always remember to diligently wash your hands.

If you or any member of your family exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, please contact your medical provider for advice immediately.  Symptoms usually appear 2-14 days after exposure.

Our greatest priority is, and will continue to be, the safety of our students, staff, and community members.  It is important to remember children are greatly influenced by the reaction of adults when facing difficult circumstances.  We encourage everyone to remain calm and to be empathetic and respectful to those affected.
